Yemen’s Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, announced on Monday that they are imposing a blockade on Israel’s Haifa port, signaling Yemeni attacks on Israel will expand.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the blockade was a response to Israel escalating its genocidal war on Gaza.
“The Yemeni Armed Forces, relying on Allah and trusting in Allah, have decided, with Allah’s help, to implement the leadership’s directives to begin working to enforce a naval blockade of the port of Haifa,” Saree said, according to Yemen’s SABA news agency.

“Accordingly, all companies with ships present in or heading to this port are hereby notified that, as of the time of this announcement, the aforementioned port has been included in the target bank,” Saree added.
Since President Trump announced a US-Houthi ceasefire on May 6, Ansar Allah has continued its missile and drone attacks on Israel, which have focused on the Ben Gurion Airport. Israel has launched several rounds of airstrikes on Yemen, but the Houthis have shown no sign of backing down.
The Houthis have maintained that Yemeni attacks on Israel will continue until there’s a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory.
“All measures and decisions of the armed forces related to the Israeli enemy, including support operations and the ban on air and sea navigation, will cease once the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted,” Saree said.
While President Trump framed the truce with the Houthis as a US victory, the US really gave up trying to stop Yemeni attacks on Israel after a month and a half of heavy airstrikes.
The Trump administration launched its bombing campaign in Yemen on March 15, and, according to the US military, it conducted over 1,000 strikes. The bombing campaign had a devastating impact on civilians, killing more than 200.
Israel should watch out with their F35s near the Yemeni coasts….!
Even if ineffectual the mere threat unnerves bullies like Israel. We have a saying "Scare the dog, don't hit him." No offense to the dogs because they do what they were created to do and they're loyal.
"bullies like Israel"
In this case, the bully is Yemen.
There you go again playing the victim card. Yemen, one of the weakest militaries and poorest countries in the world is "bullying" nuclear "We are masters of the universe" Israel. Lol. You got my vote.

Israel is a victim of terrorism and the good people of Gaza and Yemen are victims of Hamas and Houthis and their methods.
Israelis like you are victims of their own making, Gazans and Yemenis are victims of US, Israeli and gulf lackey hegemony.
The vast majority of Yemenite Jews emigrated to Israel
As of early 2022, a UN report stated that only one Jew reportedly remained in Yemen.
Many of these Christians are facing persecution and marginalization due to the country's deeply Islamic society and the ongoing civil war.
Don't play ignorant, as in international law, a blockade of a port is an act of war. I hope the Houthis don't think they are going to win an arms race.
Genocide is a vicious crime and a crime against humanity. Yemen is a party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
Houthis better take care of their own backyard and not start another war– as Yemen is facing a severe humanitarian crisis with millions displaced and experiencing extreme hunger. A decade of conflict, economic instability, and climate change have led to widespread food insecurity and displacement. More than 18.2 million people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, and 4.5 million are internally displaced.
Instead of lifting humanity, your inferiority complex causes you to put humanity down to feed your psychological sickness. If the neighboring gulf countries weren't giving trillions to the US who intervenes in the region and sides with Israeli atrocities there would be no hunger in Yemen. Putting down human beings because you can has its blowback.
Iran (a bastion of free will) provides the Houthis with significant support, including military training, weapons, and financial aid, which allows them to project power and influence in the region. — Are you now siding with the Islamic Republic of Iran?
Oh, they're siding with the Houthis in their fight against genocide (one of the few groups who have the balls to)? Looks like one point in Iran's favor.
