Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Thursday that Israeli attacks killed at least 48 Palestinians and wounded 152 over the previous 24-hour period as the relentless US-backed Israeli assault on the besieged territory continues.
The Health Ministry said two more bodies were recovered from the rubble. Its numbers only account for dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals.
“There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry said.

Many children were among the victims of Israeli strikes on Thursday. According to Al Jazeera, three children were killed by the bombing of a tent shelter in Nuseirat, central Gaza.
Four children were also reported killed by an Israeli strike in Gaza City, which also killed their parents. “Witnesses, neighbors and those who are close to the family, as well as surviving family members and civil defense crews, had to collect the flesh of the children – their limbs that were blown into the streets and neighboring residential buildings,” said Hani Mahmoud, a reporter for Al Jazeera.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, at least 10 Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks on Gaza City. Medical sources told Reuters that Israeli missiles hit a police station near a crowded market in Jabalia, northern Gaza, killing at least 10 Palestinians.
Israel claimed it targeted a Hamas and Islamic Jihad “command and control center,” but offered no evidence for its claim. According to WAFA, a total of 18 civilians were killed by Israeli strikes on Jabalia.
Also on Thursday, the Health Ministry said that Israeli strikes that hit the Durra Children’s Hospital in Gaza City a day earlier had put the facility out of service.
The Health Ministry said that since Israel resumed its genocidal war on March 18, at least 1,978 Palestinians have been killed and another 5,207 were injured. Since October 2023, the ministry’s death toll has reached 51,355, and the number of wounded has climbed to 117,248.
Gaza’s Government Media Office has previously said that including Palestinians who are missing and presumed dead under the rubble brings the death toll to about 62,000. Other estimates that account for indirect deaths caused by the US-backed Israel siege put the death toll in the hundreds of thousands.
