Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday that Israeli attacks killed at least 38 Palestinians and wounded 105 over the previous 24-hour period as US-backed Israeli strikes pound targets across the Strip.
The Health Ministry said that one body was recovered from the rubble over the same period. The ministry’s numbers are based on dead and wounded Palestinians brought to hospitals.
“There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.

Israeli attacks included the bombing of a school-turned-shelter for displaced Palestinians in Gaza City. According to Al Jazeera, at least 13 Palestinians were killed by the attack, and rescue workers said six others were missing under the rubble.
“We were sleeping and suddenly something exploded, we started looking and found the whole school on fire, the tents here and there were on fire, everything was on fire,” Um Mohammed al-Hwaiti, a survivor of the attack, told Reuters.
“People were shouting and men were carrying people, charred (people), charred children, and were walking and saying: ‘Dear God, dear God, we have no one but you.’ What can we say? Dear God, only,” she added.
The Israeli military claimed Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad were operating at the school but offered no evidence for the claim.
The Israeli military also bombed the Durra Children’s Hospital in Gaza City. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, a missile struck the upper floor of the hospital, damaging an ICU and solar panels. No casualties were reported in the attack. “The bombing caused significant damage to the intensive care unit and the alternative energy system inside the hospital,” the Health Ministry said.
The ministry said that since Israel restarted its genocidal war on March 18, 1,928 Palestinians have been killed, and 5,055 have been injured. Since March 2, Israel has maintained a total blockade on Gaza, cutting off much-needed humanitarian aid, and the ministry warned on Wednesday that children are starving.
Not supporting the Israeli brutal assault on palestinians, but this photo looks staged. Just like the white helmets were finally exposed as a cirkus act with running around and taking pics with the same "dead" children, over and over again.
Phuck off with your stupid take.
Just like the White Helmets smear campaign to promote pro-Kremlin falsehoods about the deadly Douma gas attack.

MEE runs photographs of grieving Palestinians and their victims daily. How else could the real effect of this horror be conveyed? This image could have been taken from the pages of this newspaper. It's a realism you apparently want to ignore.
"This image could have been taken from the pages of this newspaper."
No. It is not a newspaper-like image. It chooses not to use a realistic esthetic. See my response to Nunja re why I think that's ok.
The Middle East Eye runs images of this sort every day, whether you want to call it a photograph or not, and whether you think this is sentimental exploitation or not. Doing so is coverage of what is not covered in the news otherwise–the deaths and grieving in an extraordinary volume of innocent persons in this conflict. This emphasis tends to portray the reality of what's going on, instead of just referencing statistics.
"whether you think this is sentimental exploitation or not."
1/ Advance thanks for not falsely and baselessly attributing views to me that I do not hold, and have in no way implied about the pic in question.
2/ "Doing so is coverage of what is not covered in the news otherwi-"
Look at my last 20 posts – then find someone else to lecture about the obvious.
3/ I validate the pic – offering a deservedly sympathetic explanation of it – reach out civilly to include you – and that's your response? Go fuck yourself.
My apology to you. You did validate it. I was certainly not aiming my comment at you. The phrasing should have read "and whether a person might think this is sentimental exploitation or not."
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Glad to learn that Middle East Eye regularly represents Gazans as experiencing all stages of grief – vs. only showing the desecrations of murder.
"Not supporting the Israeli brutal assault on palestinians, but this photo looks staged."
1/ Yes, the 'mirror symmetry' composition and the beauty of the two girls aestheticizes the image – suppressing the violence of their murders, the shocking, defiling 'look' of violent death.
2/ On the other hand – I'm not sure this is a problem for most viewers, and I don't think it has to be a problem.
Why? Because – vs. the more common 'realistic' esthetic – this image has a different function: like pietas – Christian lamentation scenes of Christ's death – or presentations of the 'dead at peace' in open-coffin ceremonies – this image has a commemorative-mourning function – it remembers and mourns the girls 'in perpetuity.'
The image's order and beauty and stillness are the markers of that mourning function.
Having said that, I do think its meaning and impact would be stronger – and the composed elements would not 'run counter to' what we expect of a war photo – if it were a painted wall mural vs. a photograph.
How many Palestinians lives, equals one Israeli life?!…..
Looking at the entire planet, guess where the killing and war spirit is most pronounced? It is the USA and Israel. Many minor wars going on elsewhere can be pointed as having originated with either Israel or the USA.
"Looking at the entire planet, guess where the killing and war spirit is most pronounced?"
Now as 58 years ago – as MLK declared in his "Beyond Vietnam" sermon at NYC's Riverside Church: America, "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today."
