President Trump said on Tuesday that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he and the Israeli leader were on the “same side of every issue.”
Trump said in a post on Truth Social that they discussed “numerous subjects including Trade, Iran, etc.” The call comes after a report said Trump declined to back an Israeli plan to attack Iran, which would have required significant US support, and chose to pursue diplomacy instead.
Another report said Israel was considering a “limited attack” on Iran without US support, but a final decision hadn’t been made. Trump has been threatening to bomb Iran if a deal isn’t reached on its nuclear program, even though his intelligence agencies recently reaffirmed that there’s no evidence that Tehran is building a nuclear bomb.

According to Axios, Trump and Netanyahu also discussed Gaza and the potential for a ceasefire and hostage deal, although there’s no sign Israel is interested in a diplomatic solution as it’s refusing Hamas’s offer for all Israeli captives to be released in exchange for a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
The Trump administration has strongly backed Israel’s decision to break the ceasefire agreement signed in January, which would have resulted in the release of all Israeli hostages if implemented. Israel fully resumed its genocidal war on March 18 and has imposed a total blockade on humanitarian aid and all other goods entering Gaza since March 2.
Trump has signed off on at least $12 billion in arms deals since returning to office in January. Over the weekend, Israeli media reported that the US delivered nine plane loads of bunker-busting bombs to Israel to prepare for a potential attack on Iran, but the bombs could also be dropped on Gaza.

I still think that Trump is going to sign off on an attack upon Iran. And I still hope that I am wrong. Consider:
1) Trump has not backed away from any of his core demands. Demands that require Iran to totally dismantle their nuclear program. At first it looked like the US would agree to enrichment levels that would support a nuclear energy program, but then the US position hardened to eliminate their enrichment program altogether. Iran is highly unlikely to agree to this, if for no other reason than they saw what the US did to Libya.
2) Escalating and changing demands is classic “negotiations” that are designed to not secure an agreement. This strategy is designed to make it appear that one side has done all they can to secure peace, but the other side is just too intransigent. It becomes about manufacturing consent than anything resembling a real negotiation.
3) Israel needs a full-on attack on Iran to provide the cover to finish their clearing out of Gaza. The fog of war always works to conceal massive crimes.
4) I still find it hard to see Trump bucking the Israel Lobby. He may think of himself as some sort of badass transactional figure, but he has never met any group as transactional as the Israel lobby. If he crosses them then they will toss him out and declare him an antisemite without breaking a sweat. Then the Democrats will be more than happy to return to their favored cuck status.
All this augurs for some kind of attack on Iran, either jointly between the US and Israel, or by Israel alone, with the US coming quickly to the aid of a “besieged” Israel.
Israel will initiate it. Trump loves being able to say he didn't "start" any wars.
I tend to think that is the scenario. Once the thing is started there will be enormous pressure on Trump to jump in on Israel's side.
As long as Israel initiates it, there will be no need for any pressure on Trump. He's a bonafide warmonger regardless of what his cult members want to tell us.
I said as much yesterday. he will still claim that he is the peace president and had to help Israel for peace in the world and MAGA will believe it.
He hasn't ended any yet, either.
No point in Iran talking to them then.
Both Trump and Netanyahu need to keep the Middle East pot boiling. That makes the Zionists of both nations happy. That keeps the money tree blossoming. Actual war would be a disaster for both nations. Iran says, "please don't throw me into that briar patch!"
Neocons con everyone all the time, until we say NO!….
Remember when we were told that Trump wouldn't have to be beholden to Israel in his second term and how he was on the outs with Netanyahu? So much for that. Or Trump actually has real plans for a third term.
By that time I no longer believed in all of it, having seen what he had done in his first term.
I never believed that argument. I always knew trump would be pro Israel. What I did not expect was trump coming up with the idea of clearing Gaza of Palestinians for his golf courses. That surprised me. I will still stick with my predication that Israel will annex more if not all of the West Bank under trump.
I'm sure trump is his mind thinks that somehow he will find a way around the constitution to run again.
Yes that was me…
I repent.
You weren’t alone. I was even hopeful.
“same side of every issue.”
Now we know who is pulling the strings to prolong the war in "Ukraine". It is all part of a "Greater" plan. "Weaken Russia" and keep them too busy to offer much (if any) help to Iran. Keep some US troops in Syria. Keep bombing Yemen, you know why. Don't forget Somalia and Sudan, they were on the original list of 7 countries to destroy. Israel can deal with Gaza and Lebanon, but send weapons and US "advisors". OK, the US can still fantasize about dominating the world over China, Russia, etc., but meanwhile first things first.
2 old world warmongers who simply cannot give up the killing and getting land and territory by force.
That's why I never liked the slogan "Make America great again" despite the fact I voted for Trump in 2016 – he fooled me as the "peacekeeper" but I found out soon enough.
The slogan means 'going back' and going back is never a good thing other than learning from it, keeping some of the good parts and reject the rest and move forward.

Netanyahu is a waste of space. Apparently Trump wants to join him.
The same side of every issue…! Would that mean be the joint attack on Iran as well as the joint defeat…?!
Golly, who would've thought that the devil and the antichrist would see eye to eye as they make the world blind, deaf, dumb, stupid, then dead?
