Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich praised the Trump administration on Thursday after he held a meeting with Steve Witkoff, the US envoy for the Middle East.
Witkoff has been pushing for full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire deal, an idea strongly opposed by Smotrich, who not only wants the genocidal war to be restarted but wants an escalation with the goal of the “gradual takeover of the entire Gaza Strip.”
Despite the two having seemingly opposing ideas, Smotrich appeared to be happy with how the meeting went.
“We discussed the issues at hand, the courageous relationship and close cooperation between Israel and the United States, a relationship that is now strengthening dramatically with President Trump,” Smotrich wrote on X after the meeting. “We discussed the great importance of the return of the hostages and the complete victory for the sake of strengthening the security of the State of Israel.”
Smotrich said they also discussed the “new, ‘outside the box’ thinking that the United States is promoting to enable the elimination of the forces of evil and the promotion of peace through strength in the Middle East and in general.”
Smotrich could be referring to President Trump’s calls to “clean out” Gaza of its Palestinian population and send them to Jordan and Egypt, an idea Trump has doubled down on despite strong opposition from the Arab countries. When Trump first made the comments, Smotrich said he would work to make the ethnic cleansing of Gaza a reality and claimed it was the only “solution that will bring peace and security to the residents of Israel.”
Concluding his post about meeting with Witkoff on Thursday, Smotrich said, “President Trump’s USA is leading a moral and just line, and we look forward to continued cooperation to advance our common goals, and we will work on them together.”
My theory is Smotrich is the agent of the aliens. Remember sci fi series with Reptile Queen in Visitors? He takes the worst human tendencies and then runs with them. And, no, I'm not a fan of terrorists, Islamic or otherwise. Smotrich is brutal reminder of why separation of church and state is critical.
Smotrich is probably going to be Netanyahu's successor.
Smotrich as prime minister would perfectly reflect the diseased and depraved state that is Israel.
Witkoff shaking his hand makes me further doubt any delusions I have of Witkoff's character.
That was so horrible, wasn't it, something people do all the time when doing business. But you were perceptive enough to draw irrational conclusions from it.
But he didn't even make him wipe off the blood and brains first, just reached out and grabbed it, offal and all. That's just nasty.
Accepting Smotrich as someone who should be given an ounce of respect makes the Trump team look just like the Biden team. Same with Trump meeting Netanyahu. These men are butchers.

The very fact Witkoff met with this scum says it all. We've read Smotrich's comment over the last 16 months and anyone willing to meet with him should be ashamed of themselves. But he praised Trump, so he met all qualifications necessary.

Witkoff is a negotiator. Your idea of negotiation is to not meet with the sides. That is the Biden policy too.
Smotrich talks like people the US has designated as terrorists. And by "sides", you must mean Israel's side because you aren't going to see Witkoff shaking hands with anyone from the other side. And with all this tough talk, I wouldn't expect there to be any change in which side the US backs with the $$$.
In the end it will be up to the world and to all Arab countries.

It has been obvious for decades that the only real solution to the Israeli-Palestinian war is to clean the Palestinians out of Israel. The problem always has been where to send them to. Egypt and Jordan will never take them, because the rulers of those countries are not suicidal. But now Israel has large portions of Syria available.
It is U.S. bombs that destroyed Gaza, and it is the U.S. that should absorb the remaining Palestinians, not Jordan and Egypt.
That's still ethnic cleansing, though. Personally I wouldn't want to give the Israeli leadership the satisfaction.
The other easy option is to just cleanse the Israelis out of Israel. If you're looking for a place to send them Ukraine is currently being depopulated by its leadership, they could move back to The Pale where many of their ancestors originated.
In actuality the only viable route to peace is the one espoused in the slogan, "From the River to the Sea, all people will be free." The native people and the colonists need to learn to live together in peace. That's the MOST difficult solution, but the only one which will be stable over the long term.
What should be obvious to anyone not infected with the mental illness known as Zionism is that the solution to this conflict is to rid the land of those who arrived from another continent with the express purpose of violently displacing an indigenous population.

Smotrich is trying to butter up Trump so that Israel can seize more land and kill more people. I greatly doubt that will happen.
