The Israeli military establishment has found no evidence that Hamas might try to smuggle hostages out of Gaza into Egypt through the Philadelphi Corridor despite claims from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Haaretz reported on Tuesday.
Netanyahu recently made the claim that Hamas could smuggle hostages to Iran through Egypt to justify his demand that Israel must maintain control of the Philadelphi Corridor. But Israeli media reported that military officials don’t think Hamas has the capability to smuggle hostages into Egypt, let alone another country.
Netanyahu’s demand for the Philadelphi Corridor has been the main obstacle to a hostage and ceasefire deal with Hamas. The Israeli military does not believe the conditions are necessary for a temporary ceasefire deal.
Netanyahu’s efforts to sabotage the chances of a hostage deal have been widely reported by Israeli media, but the US is still pinning all the blame for the lack of an agreement on Hamas. According to The Times of Israel, the US is at odds with Egypt and Qatar over who is at fault.
The report said the disagreement is so profound that Egypt and Qatar, which have been mediating the hostage deal talks, might release a joint statement blaming Israel for the failure.
On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said there was a “strategic opportunity” for a hostage deal with Hamas but stressed any ceasefire would only be temporary.
“Israel should achieve an agreement that will bring about a pause for six weeks and bring back hostages,” Gallant said, according to The Associated Press. After that period, Gallant said Israel would “maintain the right to operate and achieve our goals — including the destruction of Hamas.”
Elon Perry, who wrote an inaccurate story about Hamas' Sinwar strategy to smuggle hostages into Egypt, was asked about his seemingly fake resume and military background by HaTzinor, a popular Israeli current affairs program

Forged Hamas documents leaked to shape public opinion, report says
Jewish Chronicle and Bild reports appear to have been an attempt to sway opinions on Israel's continued occupation of Philadelphi Corridor, says Yedioth Ahronoth

Remember they found a calendar in a hospital that they bombed and tried to pass it off as proof of a diabolical scheme?
Given what happens to Gaza hospitals, I would have to assume that calendar was made from the same material as the 9/11 hijackers' passports that were found on the street during or just after the WTC collapses, the ones that immediately identified the perpetrators!
It actually was simply a calendar.
“The Far Side” daily desk calendar ? Those are great.

THE DANCING ISRAELIS: FBI DOCS SHED LIGHT ON APPARENT MOSSAD FOREKNOWLEDGE OF
9/11 ATTACKS
NEW YORK — For nearly two decades, one of the most overlooked and little known arrests made in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks was that of the so-called “High Fivers,” or the “Dancing Israelis.” However, new information released by the FBI on May 7 has brought fresh scrutiny to the possibility that the “Dancing Israelis,” at least two of whom were known Mossad operatives, had prior knowledge of the attacks on the World Trade Center.

I remember that…!
For most, down the memory hole.

23 years ago on 9/11 I was living two miles north of the World Trade Center. I’ve never been able to forget what Netanyahu said that night, when it was believed 20,000 Americans had just died. Asked what the attacks meant for US-Israeli relations, he responded: “It’s very good.”
Asked tonight what the attack meant for relations between the United States and Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister, replied, “It’s very good.” Then he edited himself: “Well, not very good, but it will generate immediate sympathy.” He predicted that the attack would “strengthen the bond between our two peoples, because we’ve experienced terror over so many decades, but the United States has now experienced a massive hemorrhaging of terror.!”
