Gaza’s Health Ministry said Thursday that Israel’s assault on Gaza killed 17 more Palestinians in the previous 24-hour period, bringing the recorded death toll to 40,878.
Another 56 Palestinians were wounded, bringing the number of Palestinians injured in Gaza since October 7 to 94,454. Health officials told WAFA that emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads.
Israeli strikes were reported across the Gaza Strip as the unrelenting violence continues. According to Al Jazeera, Israeli forces conducted an overnight raid in the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in central Gaza, which has been deemed a permanent “safe zone” but has been repeatedly targeted by Israel.
WAFA reported two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone bombing in an area north of Rafah in southern Gaza. At least three people were killed in an Israeli strike near a school in Gaza City, and casualties were reported in a strike near the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza.
The numbers from Gaza’s Health Ministry are considered a low estimate since they don’t include Palestinians who are missing and presumed dead under the rubble, which has previously been estimated to be about 10,000 people.
It’s also unclear how many people have died in Gaza due to indirect causes. A letter written by a group of experts recently published in the British medical journal The Lancet estimated the total number of deaths in Gaza, including those killed by the Israeli military and indirect causes, could reach 186,000. They reached the numbers by using the death toll from the end of June, which was 37,396.
Only 17? A slow day for the IDF terrorists. But if those 17 killed were Israelis it would have resulted in billions of more military aid for the IDF butchers and a very boisterous condemnation from Washington. But it was only a few weeds being pulled so never mind.
They are actually IOF terrorists…!
xactly what i was thinking
Once again the report makes no mention of how many Hamas/Palestinians terrorists have been killed. My bad, I forgot since the terrorists don't wear uniforms, when they get killed and drop their gun they become instants civilians.
Yes, like that young boy in the picture. Never mind that over 17,000 children have been killed (an undercount) thus far and there are literally thousands more who have lost limbs. Never mind that over 90% of the population has been displaced and disease is running rampant on the strip. None of that matters to you. Alleging that there is an undercount of the "terrorists" means it's all justified in that sick fucking mind of yours.
Release the hostages and it will all be over.
How many times does Netanyahu have to say that he will only agree to a temporary cease fire and the war would continue on after the hostages are released for you to realize what you said is bullshit?
lol
As Jews said after WW2, "Never again!" Now the rest of the world can tell Israel, "Never again!"
"Terrorists?" The real terrorists are the ones that LET October 7 happen and have been mass murdering anything that moves in Gaza since then! Hamas is a RESISTANCE movement since Palestinians don't have a REAL military to protect them as the rest of the world does! They are sitting ducks in Gaza as Israel unloads on them and the USA keeps replenishing its weapons of slaughter!
The Germans called "the French Resistance" "terrorists". We called them "Freedom Fighters". The Israelis call the Palestinian Resistance "terrorists". Most of the Arab and Muslim World call them "Freedom Fighters". All depends whose ox is being gored I suppose.
“Terrorist” is a useful epithet for propaganda purposes, but it’s also a real tactical phenomenon — attacking civilian non-combatants for the purpose of creating a climate of terror, in hope that doing so will bring pressure on the opposing regime to give in.
In most if not all wars, belligerent states use that tactic while trying to argue against the use of the epithet to describe it. Non-state actors are often more willing to honestly describe what they’re doing. The Irgun/Stern Gang, for example, wore the label “terrorist” as a badge of honor.
“Attacking civilian non-combatants for the purpose of creating a climate of terror, in hope that doing so will bring pressure on the opposing regime to give in.” You just described the Israeli policy in Gaza and the West Bank as succinctly as I have heard it expressed.
It’s been Israeli policy for decades, but in Gaza it’s gone past that. The purpose of murdering civililans there isn’t to influence Hamas by creating terror. Netanyahu has established beyond reasonable doubt that there are no concessions Hamas would offer that he would accept to stop the killing. The killing is its own objective. The terror is incidental.
I’m fairly sure the IRGUN/Stern Gang would have described themselves as Jewish “Freedom Fighters” rather than “terrorists” . It’s always the OTHER side who are the “terrorists”.
It is now. In the 1930s it was also a proud self-descriptor.
