A senior Israeli Air Force official has told Haaretz that without US military aid, Israel would not have been able to sustain military operations in Gaza for more than a few months, demonstrating how crucial US support is for the genocidal slaughter of Palestinians.
The support is especially crucial for the Israeli Air Force. The report said the US provides the IAF with “all of its fighter planes and some of its bombs, missiles and intelligence equipment.” The US also helps Israel develop “joint weapons systems for all three layers of air defense.”
Since October 7, the US has shipped Israel over 50,000 tons of weapons and other military equipment. Weapons shipments have increased over the past month, with flight tracking data showing that August was the busiest month for US deliveries since October 2023.
President Biden also signed a bill into law that included $17 billion in additional military aid for Israel on top of the $3.8 billion it receives in annual military assistance. The administration recently approved $20 billion in new arms deals for Israel, which includes a new fleet of F-15 fighter jets.
The official speaking to Haaretz said the IAF is crafting a recommendation to increase the domestic production of bombs, missiles, and other ammunition to reduce reliance on the US. But any changes would take years to implement, meaning Israel will continue to be almost entirely reliant on US support.
Israel’s reliance on the US gives the Biden administration enormous leverage over the Israeli government. The administration has refused to use that power to force a ceasefire despite claims that US officials are working for one.
534 clapping seals on the AIPAC tit say this will never happen.
Antiwar, have you seen the injustice visited upon Sarah Wilkenson?
Jonathan Cook @Jonathan_K_Cook
This is an utterly shocking account from journalist Sarah
Wilkinson of her recent violent arrest by 16 counterterrorism police, several masked, at 7.30am.
They smashed up, or stole, many of her belongings; emptied an urn of her mother's remains over the floor; have denied her the right to touch any electronic device, even a phone, though she has a potentially life-threatening medical condition; stolen her passport, which she needs to produce or it will lead to a bail infraction and possibly a five-year jail term; and much else besides.
She has, of course, been stripped of the right to do journalism. All of this under Section 12 of the draconian Terrorism Act.
This is clearly intended as a campaign of terror, meant to intimidate others from speaking up about Israel's genocide in Gaza.
We are being reminded that you don't need to be a Julian Assange to be targeted and have your life turned upside down. We are being reminded that ultimately the UK is a police state – and that our freedoms are a gift from those who rule over us

So the British government has been warned that Israel is committing war crimes using British arms components.
Nonetheless, it has decided to carry on with the sale of 92% of its arms contracts with Israel.
That's an admission of complicity in genocide right there – in addition to all the other, overwhelming evidence.
The UK is under a legal obligation not to facilitate war crimes.
If Washington didn't have its fist permanently in the International Criminal Court's face, Starmer and Lammy would already have been hauled off to the Hague.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Starmer get a legal opinion before he took power or shortly afterwards that was even more unequivocal than this latest one? Which he never released?
Dunno.
Fukin bullies and thieves! Who are the real terrorists?
Democrats and republicans are monsters. Write in uncommitted or nobody for every federal elected office this November.
This is a positive vote — Next step os to convene a constituent assembly to decide where to put the new capitol for a new nonviolent nation..
Original thinking!
Take down the duopoly!
Do you think the USA can be saved as a unified entity; or is the subdivision of the USA into smaller, like-minded countries a better (or inevitable) option ?
That is a good question for the constituent assembly. We all know capitalists prefer smaller and weaker countries thst can be set against each other. On the other hand, the record of the US is disgusting.
They call it "free market competition" but your description is more accurate.
I mean, six, eight smaller countries formed out of a former whole USA needn't be completely disconnected. There could still be a confederation, an American EU to facilitate trade and border issues while leaving each 'country' to its own social, legal, and cultural evolutions ?
Blue-state progressives can go their way, red-states can try religious society & see how that works out, Texas can be Texas. Anyone wants to join Canada (NOT YOU, FLORIDA) can fill out an application.
Only thing is, such countries cannot restrict the movement of citizens; if progressives want to leave a regressive country or vice-versa, they MUST be permitted to "vote with their feet". Nobody should be stuck where they don't want to be.
I suspect that after a certain amount of chaos and dislocation, a “Schengen Area” type confederation in what used to be the US might be the result.
But that chaos and dislocation could get VERY bad.
True. Tho Czechia and Slovakk managed an amicable divorce. Easier for them because there were no kids involved.
Duh…
Said it before… Without US, Israel is nothing…!
!!!
But what a REMARKABLE nothing ! The vaunted IDF is winded after nearly a year against a wildly inferior enemy ? Would Israel last 45 minutes on its own against Iran ?
Without Israel, the U.S. Couldn’t Sustain Gaza Operations……….
So, the Israeli IDF and Air Force, and the ASI in general, have been receiving billions in US payments for decades, plus military s**t … they struggle against the ragtag resistance fighters in a territory the ASI has had bottled up for a half-century … and these idiots in charge of the Apartheid State of Israel seriously think they could "take" Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran, maybe Syria too, IN ADDITION to Hamas (whom, again, even using genocide tactics they can't beat) ???
There's punching above your weight-class, then there's serious questions about where (or "to whom") all this military funding has been GOING.
Not to mention the fixed assumption of American "heavy lifting" in these fool errands.
