Nancy Pelosi Says Calls for Gaza Ceasefire Is ‘Putin’s Message’

She wants the FBI to investigate if pro-Palestine protests are tied to Russia

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Sunday that American protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza are spreading the “message” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“For them to call for a ceasefire is Mr. Putin’s message, Mr. Putin’s message. Make no mistake, this is directly connected to what he would like to see. Same thing with Ukraine. It’s about Putin’s message,” Pelosi said on CNN’s State of the Union.

She also made the claim that the demonstrations were linked to Russia and called for the FBI to investigate. “Some of these protesters are spontaneous and organic and sincere. Some, I think, are connected to Russia. And I say that having looked at this for a long time now, as you know,” she said.

When asked if she thought the protesters were Russian plants, Pelosi said, “I don’t think they’re plants. I think some financing should be investigated. And I want to ask the FBI to investigate that.”

President Biden’s recent speeches and campaign events have been disrupted by demonstrators calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, with some calling him “genocide Joe” for supporting the Israeli massacre, which has killed over 26,000 Palestinians, including over 10,000 children.

A recent poll from YouGov/The Economist found half of the people who voted for President Biden in 2020 believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. The pressure on Biden and Democrats will likely continue to grow as the massacre continues.
