On Tuesday night, the House passed a nearly $40 billion bill for new Ukraine aid as Washington continues to escalate its role in supporting Kyiv in its war against Moscow.
The measure passed in a vote of 368-57, with only Republicans voting against the bill. The legislation now moves to the Senate, which could hold a vote this week.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has said the Senate will “move swiftly,” although some Republicans in the chamber have complained that the massive aid package is not large enough.
President Biden asked Congress for $33 billion for the new Ukraine aid package, but congressional Democrats ramped it up to $39.8 billion. The package includes $11 billion in presidential drawdown authority, which allows President Biden to send Ukraine military equipment from US stockpiles.
The aid also includes $6 billion in Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative funding, which enables the US government to buy weapons from arms makers and send them to Ukraine. The Pentagon will receive $8.7 billion to replenish weapons stockpiles that have been to Ukraine, and $3.9 billion to pay for troop deployments in Eastern Europe.
In March, $13.6 billion for Ukraine aid was included in a spending bill signed by President Biden. The new $39.8 billion plan will bring total US aid for Ukraine in 2022 alone to over $53 billion. To put the enormous figure into perspective, Russia’s entire military budget for 2021 was estimated to be about $65.9 billion.
I wish these websites would stop using garbage like Disqus.
i’ve noticed that other commenters can use the F word and the S word and other words on this Disqus but when i do it gets moderated out
Odd that you would “notice” something that doesn’t exist.
Disqus does have filters for “vulgarity.” And when those filters snag something that doesn’t violate our guidelines (“fuck” and “shit” don’t), it gets moderated in, not out.

Anyone surprised by the venal actions of those trained by the US should spend some time researching “The School of the Americas”, we are simply seeing the abhorrent techniques utilized in Latin America and South East Asia now occurring in a European nation. The techniques of the periphery travel back to the core as the Empire crumbles.
There is an excellent book “The School of the Americas: Military Training and Political Violence in the Americas” written by Lesley Gill that carries out an anthropological type analysis on the use of US training to integrate foreign militaries into the US command structure at deeply personal and cultural levels, and normalize torture and removal of those politicians not following US preferences. She certainly got much more than the US military would have wanted her to.
There is nothing the US can’t do when it speaks with one united voice, impressive indeed!
Yeah, one united voice in lies.
Mary, if you are living in the US you should consider moving as you aren’t on the same page as your fellow countrymen.
How about Murmansk? Or Vladivostok? I hear that house prices there are really, really low!
LOL Little neocon lackey uses that old trope, “IF YOU AREN’T WITH THE NEOCONS YOU ARE A TRAITOR WHO SHOULD LEAVE!” You’re fuhcking disgusting, little piglet. Too bad for you Russia is going to win and the globalists you drool over on your teevee are losing. Love seeing the liberated red area along the eastern border of Ukraine, stretching all the way to Crimea. Are you crying now? Aww, poor little piglet.
If this guy were alive during Bush’s Iraqi invasion back in 2003 he was one of the fools accusing everyone against this act of stupidity a “supporter of Saddam.”
I think about moving all the time, but the trouble is I would have to continue to pay taxes to the U.S. for many years, and other countries that I would want to move to have strict immigration laws.
You are not allowed to move to Russia?
The U.S. plans to annihilate Russia with nukes. Do I want to be there when that happens?
Well, Russia plans to annihilate the US with nukes too.
So you better move, maybe Cuba or North Korea?
Me too Mary. Problem is my first choice would be Ireland, but a retiree who emigrates there needs a significant amount of money so as to not be a burden on the Irish government. This is understandable.
And I unfortunately have no Irish ancestry to facilitate the process.
Mexico would be my second choice. Yo hablo espanol, porque no mucho 😐
Be advised. The empire of lies is failing. A return to the principles of the republic is already in the works…
I know, Putin will soon be replaced.
There is still hope for Russia, they can still choose the right path!
What sh*thole do you reside in? Must be a bastion of freedom if you think anyone with a different opinion than the majority should move. Let me guess, Mississippi?
Haha, wrong country.
Yes, I think she should move from the US because she thinks that Democrats, Independents and Republicans are crazy.
If you think that over 95% of the population in the country live in are mad, YOU ARE BETTER OFF BY MOVING.
She didn’t say any such thing. Now you’re just making sh*t up.
Too much of a coward to say where you live? Hey, if you don’t have the balls YOU ARE BETTER OFF BY MOVING.
The delirious woman even admitter herself that she wanted to move, so sh*t up Russki lover.
And you should be deported ASAP, but I bet Russia wouldn’t even accept you. Belarus maybe?
Admitting you want a move doesn’t equate to saying the democrats, republicans and independents are crazy. Own up to it there, little piglet, she said no such thing.
And still not enough balls to tell us where the little piglet rolls around in the mud? At least Mary has the guts to say where she is from but not the little piglet.
Here are a few excerpts from that deranged woman:
“Waterboarding Graham would be a good place to start.”
“The stupid American people deserve to have their taxes raised to the point where they are suffering and can’t feed themselves.”
“Why wouldn’t we love Putin? He’s the best leader in the entire world today.”
“I think NATO and the U.S. are the two beasts talked about in the Book of Revelation.”
So shut that trap of yours, sheep.
That idiot shouldn’t emigrate, she should be deported.
So sheep, WHERE DO YOU LIVE? BE SPECIFIC, SHEEP.
And not one of those “deranged” excerpts contain anything where she said: “because she thinks that Democrats, Independents and Republicans are crazy.” So, piglet, how about you shut your trap since you keep posting sh*t that doesn’t back up what you said.
I live in the US in the state of Michigan as I’ve alluded to on many occasions. I don’t try to pretend I’m from elsewhere like you. If you aren’t from the US, you’re from one of our lackeys that we use like a cheap whore.
When has that ever happened?
E.g. after Pearl Harbour and Bucha.
You have dreams of the Borg collective? “Resistance is futile”.

You can lay all of this “damned shame” at the feet of Joe Biden, Antony Blinken, Victoria Nuland, and all the other Amerikan war mongers.
If you include all the democrats and republicans, it only leaves a few deviant souls that never adapted to a normal life in the US.
Most of them are active on this forum.
You are normal?!?
If you live in the US you do realize that you are a deviant, don’t you?
Or maybe you live in some poor socialist country somewhere?
So, you backed the Iraq wars, the destruction of Lybia, The 20 years in Afghanistan, the 40 years of belligerence towards Iran, draconian sanctions in multiple countries, the enabling of the starvation in Yemen and on and on and on? Same people. Thankfully we do have “deviant souls” like Mary but it’s unfortunate we have so many, many more “normal” folk just like you.
Oh the irony. listing three countries who have never invaded anyone, except for N. Korea in 1950. What is this obsession with always listing three countries? Oh yeah, the axis of evil must always have three members (Venezuela is available to pinch hit)
Especially Iran. No Nukes, no airforce or navy to speak of and they haven’t attacked anyone, other than for self-defense against Iraq, in 200 years. But Iran is always included because otherwise these clowns won’t get The Lobby’s support.
There you go,changing the subject again when it suits you.So Go to wiki-Iran has 320 combat aircraft,5 subs, and 9 frigates.
“As China, Iran and North Korea watch our response”
That is what I replied to. How was I changing the subject when Iran was part of the subject? Changing the subject is your game.
“So Go to wiki-Iran has 320 combat aircraft,5 subs, and 9 frigates.”
Do you know what “TO SPEAK OF” means?
The topic was Ukraine.Iran has a larger Navy than Israel, and almost as large an air force-“to speak of”.
I didn’t comment on the article. I replied to another comment.
But anyway:
“Iran’s air force is an ancient relic, hemmed in by U.S. sanctions and cut off from Western military technology. Their planes use parts from the 1970’s, equipment that is not exactly reliable in the event of a direct conflict. Iran’s rollout last year of a so-called 4th Generation aircraft was likely a 1970’s-version of the American F-5.”
“Ditto Iran’s Navy, which is essentially a collection of small boats that would be smoked out of the water if a war were to erupt. Iran spends a pittance compared to its rivals in the Gulf”
Now compare that to the little parasite with nukes.
Um, what? “changing the subject”? Iran is part of the subject, pay attention and read a little.
“Noo, Iran has vehicles, ha ha, you are wrong!” wars r u.s. did not mean they had NO vehicles in their military. Anyone could understand that. You could understand that. But their ships and planes are outdated and no threat at all to the U.S.
Got it now? Okay. You can apologize.
dream on.
Not bad considering Iran spends less than 1% on its military than he USA does.
There was a regime change in Iran, it was an undercover CIA job, the other stuff came later.
North Korea, that was a civil war, Granger could replace it with Venezuela or maybe Afghanistan or Iraq or any other country.
I wonder if she, were she Iranian or Chinese, would appreciate it if Americans would stand firm with her and do what is necessary to protect American interests at her expense. How stupid people like her can be. All for the Freedom and Democracy BS
“The measure passed in a vote of 368-57, with only Republicans voting against the bill. The legislation now moves to the Senate, which could hold a vote this week.”
57 is encouraging, relatively speaking. Of course, I imagine a good portion of that 57 is because $40 billon isn’t enough.
I wonder if this measure includes Biden’s wish to seize $30B of Russian, private property. I love how we say, ‘rules based world order’ to mean the U.S. can do whatever the heck it wants.
I think it’s great that Russian assets are used to rebuild Ukraine, don’t you?
NO! Ukrainian dick!
This isn’t Tinder, you can’t express your sexual preferences here.
You might be single and sexually frustrated, by still.
I’m sure there is a man waiting for you, out there somewhere.
Very good point. There is escallation on many fronts.
I don’t know. Sidenote: that is a six to one vote, so Republicans where voting for the bill (and I do mean bill).
Awesome politicians and kleptocrats destroying the American economy through hyperinflation.
Thanks for putting some numbers on this. It’s noteworthy that America is going to spend so much more losing a war than Russia is going to spend winning it, though the real economic cost looks to be the hit to the petrodollar.
I’m hoping Russia can capture some of the missile depots instead of just bombing them. They could put the arms to better use, like handing them over to the defenders of Donbass. As they have already done with a lot of U.S. arms in the hands of the Zelensky regime.
It’s amazing how fast congress can move when the bi-partisan war party wants something. For the rest of us it is hurry up and wait. Congress is nothing more than a cheap whore house. Worst than useless and a danger to us.
Move to Russia then, Igor.
Move to Bellevue Harpo
I like it here in the west, you on the other hand should live somewhere in Sibiria since you clearly are a Russki.
Ukrainian dick!
Let me know when you get some!!
I’d rather move your worthless warmongering @$$ to Russia along with the rest of your ilk. I would wish the Russians good and happy hunting.
Second the motion.
Third the motion.
I love it here in the west, you on the other hand is an abnormality.
You should live with your fellow, warmongering Russkis, preferably somewhere really cold like Murmansk.
Nina Jankowicz.
Novaya Zemlya, perfect for you.
Zelensky comes with a new Wishlist every week and always gets what he wants, never ending Christmas for him. One can only wonder what he does with all the money. Corruption in Kiev must be blooming in the most corrupt country. It really smells like corrupt Afghanistan did.
But than again our government is just as corrupt, they use lobbyists to get on the money. They requested more money by May 19. Governing is a nice racket, it pays off.
That’s it. Just so predictable that the USA would ARM the bad guys in all this. What would the USA do if Russia had bio-weapons labs in Mexico and Canada along the US border? What would the USA do if Americans living in those nations were abused and persecuted? The USA and Co. will NEVER “win” a war as long as these wars are based on lies and serve only those who profit by wars!
Zero House Democrats — including the Squad — voted against approving another $40 billion for the Ukraine proxy war. RIP the Progressive fraud.
Just in time. The book deals and art scams were starting to smell, nothing is better in the money laundering world than a Zelenskyy.
So true 🙂
Why are the first and second numbers separated when they are doing the same thing? $15 billion to arms makers. And we don’t really know where they are going. Probably to neoNazis for a few generations, see “Gladio” on popular resistance.
Where is the rest going (apprx $21 billion)? A new money-laundering operation?
That’s what Alex Christoforou says.
I don’t really know who he is.
He is a Greek journalist who gives updates on the news of the Ukraine war, and he is currently reporting from Cyrpus. He is with The Duran. I find his analysis to be quite good and try to follow him daily. Another one I try to follow is Gonzolo Lira aka Coach Red Pill. He is in Kharkov, Ukraine and was captured by Zelensky’s thugs but released as he is too high pro-file and has dual American and Chilean citizenship. You get a different view from these guys than the Western propaganda. I also like Aaron Mate’ and Max Blumenthal on The Gray Zone.
I like Lira myself Mary and will check out the Greek gentleman.
You always provide good info: TY.
It should be illegal to pass this giveaway to the arms producers (from which Ukraine’s regime will buy its weapons) while the Secretary of Offense is Lloyd Austin, who went straight from Raytheon to this post. Biden’s corruption couldn’t be more blatant.
Oh wait, it could – he has a crackhead son who received $50,000 a month from state-owned Burisma in Ukraine after his dad had financed the coup there, and emails show Hunter sends half of these kind of “fees” to “the big guy”.
It wasn’t just the Biden crime family. Ukraine was the preferred money laundry mat of a lot of the DC criminal cartel. Anyone who thinks a tidy sum of the $40 Billion isn’t going to find it’s way back home is a fool.
“who went straight from Raytheon to this post.”
Seems like a prerequisite for the job. Mattis, Esper, Austin….
For 53 Billion Dollars (US), we should be able to buy Ukraine and make it a state of the good ol’ US of A…………………………………………………………………… (they will be listed in front of Utah but throw some money at Utah and they won’t mind!)
Mr. President, could you cash me out for a few hundred thousand? ASAP and thank you!
In exchange, I can park a few Patriot Missiles in my front yard!
P.S. Might I suggest a name change for Ukieland? If they are worth that kind of money, they should easily qualify for a new name!!!
Disneyworld in Dnepropetrovsk?
I used to think there was at least a small chance that Democrats might be able to salvage America.
True, Democrats have always been as corrupt as Republicans but
they never seemed as insane as them.
Democrats are now officially tied with Republicans.
Both are crazier that sht house rats
The Democrat’s new plan to tackle climate change is to foist a nuclear war on the planet which will roll back human numbers to the point where we can no longer influence the climate.
Nuclear Winter will take care of global warming.
The plan will work but …..
More corporate welfare for the MIC, paid for by the $7.25 per hour minimum wage earner in 20 of the US states and by the rest of the minimum wage earners who earn less than $14 per hour with the exception of only 4 US states where the minimum wage actually exceeds, but not by much, $13.99 per hour.
On one hand, yes, the tax burden feels relatively heavier to 1.7% of Americans who earn minimum wage. On the other hand, the bulk of the burden falls on the “middle class.”

Mothers can’t get food for their babies and arming nazis is this government’s first priority.
Exactly, children are suffering in Ukraine.
Great that the US is helping!
Helping to add to the suffering of the children alright. Like in Yemen. Iraq. Syria. Libya. Somalia. Afghanistan. Serbia. And with sanctions many other countries.
Psychopaths.
Yes, the Russian soldiers are psychopaths indeed.
It’s great that the US is helping to rebuild Ukraine, I’m sure it will be better and stronger than before.
And being a member of the EU will help them financially too.
You think the US gives a shit about the children in Ukraine? Probably about as much as it cared about the children in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam… You are a brainwashed fool!
Apparently the vast majority do, well apart from some sick individuals like you.
But sometimes even the best of families have a black sheep…
Take a listen to Madeline Albright’s comments on the murdering of 500,000 children in Iraq was totally worth it. U fkg douche bag!
Exactly Jethro!
And those of us on fixed incomes are scrounging for inexpensive recipes!
And it’s one, two, three, what are we fighting for? Whoopee, we’re all gonna die!
Don’t ask me I don’t give a damn, next stop is ….Viet Nam
I ain’t got time to wonder why…Nam
Filled it in for you. And I have never forgotten. Thanks Country Joe and the Fish.
Intel Slava Z reports English and American high-ranking officers disappeared during the landing On Snake Island. The Ukrainian military fought for two days, but it was not possible to return the officers, or at least their bodies.
An American marine lieutenant colonel, as well as an English major from the commando brigade of the marine corps, landed on Snake Island together with Ukrainian fighters.
They coordinated the work of NATO intelligence assets and the Ukrainian landing forces. Both officers landed in the first wave. But then the Russians shot down three helicopters and one landing craft was sunk. The remaining boats withdrew, leaving the first wave of landing on the shore.
London and Washington demanded that Zelensky make every effort to return their officers. Despite several attempts to re-land on the island, it was not possible to find out the fate of the English and American marines. It is assumed that they died in battle.
Intel Slava Z “reports” nothing. Intel Slava Z is an aggregator of others’ “reports.”
Bipartisan war party strikes again. Heck, even AOC or Bernie Sanders voted for it. Fake leftists they are. And we know the Republicans only voted against it know because the president is currently of the other party. Both parties are the same when it comes to the war machine. Vote for 3rd party candidates!
And don’t let anyone tell you you’re “wasting your vote”!
Tell anyone who voted for a D or an R that THEY are the ones wasting their vote!
I’d say a good percentage of republicans voted against is because it wasn’t ENOUGH. A few are just nut job contrarians, but we can hope a few might actually have a brain.
Ukraine is getting ‘built-back-better’……
Ignoring the morality, or lack of same, in this decision, what I am most disgusted by is the astounding waste and profiteering being exhibited by the US arms industry. We have already acknowledged that we have no clue where the “assistance” we are sending to Ukraine is going, but there is a great deal of evidence much of the money is simply going into the pockets of the Ukraine ruling elite, and to US business profits. The “accepted premise” that heavy weapons of multiple types, much of it up to 40 years old, in varying states of “repair” or “disrepair”, with wildly different logistical requirements, is somehow making it over 1000 km of bad roads and bombed out railway bridges from the Polish border to aid in the Donbas fighting is absurd. What doesn’t break down, get syphoned off into a black market, or get destroyed enroute, is almost impossible to calculate, but the never-ending stories of Ukrainian soldiers “desperate for resupply” DESPITE the massive aid shipments is pretty telling. As if sending more miscellaneous junk over the Polish border will somehow “make up” for all the other junk we’ve already sent that isn’t getting to where it needs to go already.
The “new weapons for NATO allies giving ex-soviet junk to Ukraine” plan is simply a colossal scam being perpetrated on the US and Germany by our “eastern NATO allies”.
Col Douglas Macgregor is one of the very few analysts willing to report accurately on the Donbas fighting; overwhelmingly, “our” pro-Ukrainian journalists are living in hotels in Lviv, 1000 km from the fighting, flirting with girls and drinking beer, while unquestioningly printing only whatever propaganda Ukrainian “official sources” tell them to. It’s pathetic; my sympathies to the Ukrainian people; they are being badly used by their own “leaders” and by the West, who could not care one bit how many Ukrainians die, as long as “Russia is punished”.
Now, Israel will be jealous as hell…!
