President Biden will warn Russian President Vladimir Putin that the US is prepared to move more troops and military hardware near Russia’s border on NATO’s “eastern flank” if Russia invades Ukraine, an unnamed senior administration official told reporters on Monday.
Biden and Putin will speak on Tuesday amid heightened tensions over Ukraine. The US has been warning that Russia is planning to move into Ukraine based on a troop buildup in the region, but Moscow strongly denies that it is planning an invasion.
On Friday, The Washington Post reported that US intelligence has found Russia is planning to invade Ukraine in early 2022. But the administration official who spoke with reporters Monday said the US wasn’t sure if Putin was really planning an invasion.
“We do not know whether President Putin has made a decision about further military escalation in Ukraine. But we do know that he is putting in place the capacity to engage in such escalation should he decide to do so,” the official said.
Russia has been pointing to the increase in US and NATO activity near its borders and in the Black Sea as the source of tensions. If the US moves more troops to the region, Russia would likely respond in kind. Biden is also reportedly considering sanctions on Russia to “deter” Moscow from invading Ukraine.
Notably, the US is only threatening to sanction Russia or move more troops into the region as opposed to intervening militarily to fight the Russians. In earlier statements, Biden and other US officials have been vague about what Washington’s response to a Russian invasion would be, warning “consequences” and committing to Ukraine’s “sovereignty.”
Biden to Warn Putin the US Is Prepared to Move More Troops Near Russia’s Border
And?
And? Zionists will decide what to do next. Biden has no clue. Naturally so. Slaves are not privy to master’s schemes. Americans should be prepared send their youth to fight and die for Israel and Zionists. That is the final take
Ukraine is out of their sphere of influence.
Did you know there is an ocean and a continent between Ukraine and the United States? It is preposterous to say a geostrategy of risking a direct conflict between nuclear states is preferable to accepting that the US should not be involved in these conflicts in the first place.
The purpose of all those activities is to encourage Ukrainian leadership to start the offensive against DNR and LNR. Still Ukrainians are not convinced. Besides it is not clear, what US can do if Russia interfere. Last time, in 2014 in Crimea, when Russia interfered, about 90% of Ukrainian military personnel defected.
If the USA was only as 10% as concerned about its OWN BORDER instead of Ukraine’s, we’d be in a lot better position today! What would the USA do if a bunch of Central and South American nations started massing troops on the USA’s Southern Border? They would do exactly as Russia is doing and probably worse! NATO and the USA are USING the Ukraine as a thorn in the side of Russia and Russia has every right to protect itself. Just like Israel, it has “a right to self defense”.
I think the average Ukrainian knows full well their current government is illegitimate and psychopathic.
They may, or may not like Russians, but they know full well the Americans would gladly get them all killed in any military conflict with Russia.
There is NO military solution to this conflict that brings Donbass back into Ukraine by force with Russia supporting them.
Even if all of NATO tried, it would not work.
There’s always the “unnamed administration official” to gin things up.
What is this website attempting to instigate?
I referred to Biden as the enfant terrible during the Obama years. How do you beg a president not to implement a chain of events that leads to millions of deaths?
Well said, well said.
This red hot reheat of “Torias fiasco is a last frantic attempt to undo what she did with the Maidan Coup. There she was handing cookies out too as the political impass festered, before the coup. But quite quickly and by no foul perceived, the elected president fled. She had won a treacherous and dangerous gamble. Next we are treated by Putin it’s thought to an and amazing & historical phone sonversation between the American spy woman who brought the $5bilion toll to oust the sitting elected president and some other American diploSpy where she names the president she chooses, and so it came to pass that he became the president of Ukraine.
Simple question: Whose army is on the wrong side of the world?
Bingo!
Evidently, the revised script and mantra is now being applied: “NATO was always open door, no one should have a veto, and NATO is a defensive (sic) alliance. ”
The last one caused me choke on morning coffee, as the hypocrisy and arrogance has now exceeded even the “standards” applied by Israel but it is now a given in state dept and pentagon.
Evidently, the destruction of Libya, Iraq, Afghan, Syria now qualifies in their demented minds as defensive.
It occurs to me that a situation like this could easily become a flash point for a larger conflict…
Starting to resemble August 1914 out there …
Well said, well said.
Hi Caliman. I appreciate your observation and I certainly hope it does not come to pass…
There is a Russian proverb that Biden’s national security team should
take into account. “Don’t try to skin the Russian bear before it is
dead.”
I voted for Biden. I am just a little disappointed. I thought he was more intelligent. What is he trying to prove by saying he would send our young men and women to Taiwan and Ukraine to “defend” them. WTF is wrong with his advisers. Does he like the whiff of Victoria Nuland’s hair or something? JFC. We have enough problems here at home.
Also, the other day I read a speech that JB made in 1995 where he called Social Security and Medicare “sacred cows”. Did I vote for another Republican for POTUS???
