On Wednesday night, the big three papers, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal all ran articles attacking the Trump administration over their supposed "ties" to Russia.
Yet, in the tradition of anti-Russia hype in the American media, on close inspection, the stories end up amounting to nothing but further evidence of America’s "permanent government," its Cold War agenda, and their attempt to overturn, or at least "hem in," the policy decisions made by the new administration on the issue of U.S. relations with Russia.
The Times story says that the Obama government went to great lengths to leave so-called, yet invisible, "evidence," of the Russian government’s supposed interference in the election – their role in the hacking of the DNC and Hillary Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta remains completely unproven – at different places all around the different departments so that Trump’s people would be unable to destroy it. It’s great Trumpian "arguing past the sale," and complete with admitted unsubstantiated rumormongering about the Trump team’s connivance with the Russians in doing so, to boot:
"[The effort] also reflected the suspicion among many in the Obama White House that the Trump campaign might have colluded with Russia on election email hacks – a suspicion that American officials say has not been confirmed."
The Post‘s story centers on former Senator, now Attorney General, Sessions’s supposed perjury before Senator Al Franken at his confirmation hearings when he claimed not to have spoken to any Russians as part of the Trump campaign. But the story throws cold water all over itself in paragraph number twelve, when "Justice officials" admit,
"Sessions met with Kislyak on Sept. 8 in his capacity as a member of the armed services panel rather than in his role as a Trump campaign surrogate."
Oh. Well, then. Sessions’s spokeswoman, Sarah Isgur Flores, elaborated:
“He was asked during the hearing about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign – not about meetings he took as a senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee.”
The Post continued:
"She added that Sessions last year had more than 25 conversations with foreign ambassadors as a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, including the British, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Indian, Chinese, Canadian, Australian and German ambassadors, in addition to Kislyak."
The Wall St. Journal‘s contribution to the hit was their report that the FBI and other agencies were monitoring Sessions at the time.
"The outcome of the inquiry, and whether it is ongoing, wasn’t clear."
House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is demanding Sessions resign or be removed from office.
Sessions shouldn’t be the AG and it has nothing to do with Russia.
But he was Trump choice would you rather let Hillary pick the attorney general
What’s the difference who makes the choice if the choice is bad? You’re taking blind loyalty to a new level.
Hillary takes corruption to new levels. Having Hillary pick the AG would have been disastrous to this country. At least we’ve got at least some chance that Sessions might be honest. I don’t know if there’s an honest politician in DC these days. But I know Hillary wouldn’t be able to find one because she’d put the cabinet posts up for sale and the AG would be the biggest donor to the Clinton Foundation. A corrupt President would require a corrupt AG. I’ll take a slim chance that maybe Trump might pick an honest AG over that.
I really don’t give a s**t who the queen b**ch would have picked. I think Sessions is a theocratic moron. The constant speculation of what might have happened doesn’t change what IS happening.
More and more alligators are surfacing up in Trump’s swamp.
They sure are .the establishment both democrats and republicans , most of the established press , Most of the NGOs , NATO , the UN, almost all international business , The NWO , The EU, And the US intelligence agencies . Trump only has the backing of the people and the US military .
Trump’s backing of the people is soft backing that will fade. And that which it is, is not backing for the cause you think it is. It’s domestic politics and nothing to do with the antiwar cause.
The military cause? LOL
Again you are missing the essence. Trump voters, tens of millions of them follow the circus carefully. And if you think that Trump’s crowd cares only about immigrants — and will be happy by the wall, you are missing the key subtext of this election. It is globalism. Elite that want to subject American citizens to the trade courts, open borders to immigrants and calital flight, avoidance of taxes, and fostering regulative climate in US that is driving businesses out of the country and creating advantages to financial speculations, while suffocating industry. GMO is an important issue to fhe same “deplorables”.
You are mistaken about Trump voters. And Democrats are making a mistake by milking Russia issue. The more they milk — the more your average
Trump supporters learns about Russia. And the more ghey learn -/ the more they like it. If for no other reason it is for being socially conservative and are not ashamed of being Christians. Or for trying to protect Christians — today one of the most endangered minorities in the Middle East.
So, Democrats think they will turn red states to hate Russia — but are so dim and do not see that the outcome is just the opposite. All they are trying to do is find a way to toss some garbage on the otherwise great day for Trump and his policies.
Bianca, Trump’s supporters are like flies swarming to rotting meat. They have been filled with false hope and they were wide open to grasping at that hope because of their dismal situation. The situation in your country that nobody is really denying exists. Using the illegal immigrant situation is a natural for Trump. It can easily be presented as a cure for all the problems that face ordinary Americans. It promises to eliminate the violence in society. It’s promises to reduce unemployment. It promises to eliminate Non-white, non-Americans from the mix.
While in truth, illegal immigration is encouraged by business that needs the cheap labour. Trump would need to propose concentrating on finding and arresting criminals, both immigrant and native American. That’s not his interest and it’s being proven by his below board pursuit of Hispanics who are law abiding citizens, and then having them deported. His support won’t differentiate on that because with them, it’s all good. Hence, flies to rotting meat.
Take more time to express yourself as the decent human being you want others to see in you. That will allow us to reach some modicum of agreement eventually.
I’m not so sure about the military.
I would be sure. Rank and file.
Sorry…I know for a fact that is not true. He may have a large portion of the upper ranks but there are large swaths of the thinking, non-koolade drinking file who are tired of the constant redeployments and tension of the possibilities of more wars. I know NCOs who have teenage children they’ve actually lived with for a total of 4-6 years – great family life.
I am pretty sure Trump was not president during the time period you are referencing
You are making an assumption that I was referring to the past…
“…who are tired of the constant redeployments …I know NCOs who have teenage children they’ve actually lived with for a total of 4-6 years.” Is it not a fact that you are talking of the past? And trying to conflate Trump with what went on in the past?
It still applies to the present. Deployments are still happening. Until Trump, or anyone else, extracts us from our quagmires, it will always apply.
So what? You were speaking of the past and then claimed you were not and that I was assuming you were. Can’t you admit you “mis-spoke?
I didn’t say anything about the past other than it’s the same as the present. Maybe you should make sure you respond to the right post before accusing anyone of misspeaking.
“I know NCOs who have teenage children they’ve actually lived with for a total of 4-6 years – great family life.” You want to explain how all these years they missed with their kids did not take part on the past?
Actually, no, it is not a fact. I have had and maintain to this day, close ties with those who serve in the military – those I served with and those who are children of those I served with. Sorry to disappoint you.
So the deployments that happened such that NCOs with teen-age kids who have only been able to live with those kids for 4-6 years did not take place in the past?
The objective is to reinforce “Russia=bad”, so Americans are more likely to accept the Final War.
Now, where did you get that nonsense? The constantly lying Propaganda Machine aka Main Stream Media? That’s what they’ve been ranting about, regarding the wall.
In case you haven’t learned, America’s southern “border” with Mexico has been wide open for years. Not only illegal aliens have slipped into the US, drug cartels have been smuggling drugs across the “border” as well. At least one Border Patrol agent has been shot dead by these drug smugglers.
Now, these are the reasons Trump had called for a wall to be built, not to keep us in. The Soviets built a wall to keep East Berliners from sneaking into the Western side back in 1960.
In fact, the East Germans built the wall to keep western saboteurs out.
Trump’s massive naval and nuclear buildup, massive “infrastructure” plans, eminent domain infringements, environmental roulette and obscene border wall are going to last a lot longer than his term(s) as President. They will be inherited by generations to come. You cannot maintain that the border wall would never be used to keep Americans in.
You destroy your case more than further it Eileen, when you said:
” At least one Border Patrol agent has been shot dead by these drug smugglers.”
That alone tells me that your perspective on the issue is all out of whack. I wouldn’t expect you to know why I say that but if you’re interested on a logical discussion then do pursue it further with me.
And if you go the other direction to Canada they force you to spend all day long listening to Don. 🙂
I’m thinking that taking a chance with the machine guns and the drones at the wall is better than that.
Where were they on “Lock Her Up?”
Oh, wrong party.
The press is the opposition party, a party that includes the Deep State and the neocon hawks of both political parties.
All of these papers work for the deep state and the billionaires that own them. They will rue the day.
They have tried to sell us a little to much fake news . Trump may bring them all down
You’re too wrapped up in your domestic politics that is bias for the Repub right. Your Republicans aren’t antiwar and you’re going to find soon that Trump isn’t either in any way. He’s temporarily trapped in his fake position on Russia but it can’t last much longer without it bringing him down. His way out now is to somehow make it clear that he doesn’t intend to be Putin’s friend. He never did of course.
Get over him, it’s dragged too many antiwar people away from our joint cause!
Oh, and the Dems are going to go for Trump’s tax returns and now apparently there’s a way they can get them. And when they do and they find some business under the table with Russia, he’s toast. the bloody repubs won’t even be able to help him out on that mess!
And all this because Trump made some silly promises of improved relations with Russia, which he didn’t mean and were only to grab a few antiwar votes.
Trump wants out of this desperately now because as I’ve been saying all along, it’s destroying him.
Trump being quiet on it for weeks now just won’t make it go away! LOL
Still sticking with the “he DESPERATELY WANTS OUT of something he can easily get out of any time he likes because it was just a toss-off line to an insignificant voter bloc and because his main support base will find excuses for him even if he announces he’s switching parties, getting a sex change, appointing his dog to the National Security Council, coming (back) out for single-payer health care and bringing back disco” idea, huh?
He’s simply and desperately trying to get out of all the problems that have been created over Russia and his Russia comments. He doesn’t mention it unless he’s prompted and hasn’t for quite some time. If he has then fill me in on it because I’ve missed it.
It seems that the part you suggest he could get out of is the promise of better US/Russia relations. Correct? How would he do that other than just say I lied? Or I misspoke? Or what?
All the rest on Russia has now become something that neither his party or he can put to bed. The cause to destroy him is solid with the Dems and is secretly becoming solid with the Repubs in my opinion. There is certainly no doubt whatsoever that the Repubs would never be with him on improving relations with Russia. No amount of pretending is going to change my mind on that. “That” is just domestic politics to suggest that they are.
Glad to debate that with you, but be serious. I have a hunch that I’m right that Trump will be taken down but i’m not saying I’m certain. I’m going to say that I’m certain that his US/Russia improved relations thing will come to nothing though. I was assuming that you were too?
Never forget, my agenda is antiwar. I oppose Trump because I have found nothing in him to support. Raimondo has but he’s dead fu-king wrong.
your turn! or just get back to me when you’re not so busy.
Trump did mean what he said about Russia .. And anyone that looked at the road Russia has been traveling on since Yeltsin , Putin Medvedev and Putin again leading Russia . They have all been acting on a higher more moral plane than NATO or the United States .for more than 20years . The Russian people are solidly behind their government . Do you think they are stupid .
no but I think Canada may be stupid with who they elected .don
Oh Eric, that’s all beside the point. Tell us more about the good things the KKK has done.
Russia has given up on Trump. That’s the latest. MSNBC did a two hour propaganda hit on Russia/Putin last night. David Merrick was on as a commenter but they didn’t make sure he was solid before he got to speak. He fu-ked up the prowar line pretty good too!
Well enough to sow some more seeds of doubt on MSNBC. It’s worth discussin with anybody who saw it.
No it hasn’t, Don. MSNBC, like the rest of the pirhana propaganda machine, lied about Russia giving up on Trump. Trump said, in both his campaign speeches and in his Inaugural speech, that he’d restore friendly relations with Russia, and he meant every word. You’ve been brainwashed too long by the Lame Stream Media, reading/listening to their lies on a daily basis. It’s long time that you gave up on them and turn to the alternative media, who’ve been putting out the truth 24/7.
The Truth shall set you free, Don; so, stop being a slave to the Propaganda Machine. You’ll feel a whole lot better, too.
Eileen Kuch, you are a LIAR. Trump didn’t say a word about Russia in his inaugural speech. YOU LIED.
Dog have mercy on you LYING soul!
But you know Eileen, the reason you LIED is because you have been completely taken in by Trump the faker. You have only imagined he said something because you are still full of your false hope.
Give it up, it’s not worth selling yourself for a cause that will never be!
I hope someone who logs-in flags this as inappropriate. Surely personal attacks on fellow antiwar.com readers is not acceptable.
If Don payed any attention to the world, he’d have long since learned that Mr. Putin is a careful player who waits for the time to be right to move. Usually his internal critics say he waits too long. I suspect he learned it in martial arts, the art of patience waiting for the opponent to get a bit off balance before striking.
Anyways, I doubt Mr. Putin’s attitude has changed much. I suspect the Russians are smart enough to know all along that Trump would assume power in Washington leading at best a divided country. That any politician who wants to drain a swamp will probably be busy with the alligators for awhile.
So, I’m skeptical that Putin and the Russians are leaping to any conclusions and writing anything else off after a few weeks. That is most definitely not Putin’s style.
Eileen telling me lies about what Trump said isn’t appropriate either. And in fact any support of Trump is inappropriate and dangerous to our cause. He’s threatened N.Korea, Iran, Syria. China and probably a few others. Who will he bomb first? Russia?
Don,
I would urge you to be somewhat more understanding of Eileen. I don’t think she’s lying. What she’s doing is just fantasizing anything she wants Trump to have said into his speech. This is not the first time, I remember that happening a week or two ago. And she’s far from the only person, here or elsewhere, to just imagine that Trump said things he didn’t say, or didn’t say things he did.
For the record, here is what Trump said about Russia in his inauguration speech:
[THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK]
Yes, I’ll show some restraint for Eileen. You’re right, she’s making it up in her mind because of hope turning into desperation. That indicates to me that she’s a good person at heart.
Please, Don. You are a classic. Russia has NOT GIVEN UP ON TRUMP. Russia is not a child that expect candy from their favorite presidential candidate. They are used to being abused, invaded murdered by the ten of millions from the human rights loving West. So, they are having their eyes wide open. But not giving up, at all. They KNOW when somebody is truthful, and when somebody is lying. They will take a long -term position. This may affect how they deal with situations, but will be taken into account.
There is such a panic in certain quarters that Americans may actually discover Russia. And find out just how many things they have in common. So, panic in overdrive. But all you have to do is read Infowars.com, and see that at this time, every Billy Bob has figured out that Russia is not the enemy, and that the enemy of people in this country are in panic. Ordinary folks have figured out why globalists hate Russia so much — be that religion or emphasis on traditional family, or ability to shed the oligarchs, in favor of government that serves the people. They see Russia for what it is, not a wealthy, but happier. Country with no GMO. No debt, and independent from globalist chains. Follow THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF READERS COMMENTS ON ANYTHING RUSSIAN, AND YOU WILL NOT FIND A NEGATIVE COMMENT AMONG THEM.
This is what happens when a leader, like Trump, dares to talk to people, ordinary people, and treats them with respect. Trump did not go to a Washington Think Tank after the election to talk foreign policy, instead he went to Fayetteville, NC, and then on to Ohio. He talked to people elites DESPISE. and talked about foreign policy. About our interventions, regime changes, nation building.
I have never been more proud of a US president. He treated his followers as people he should share his ideas with. And then, let Washington elites go ahead and pontificate. They will always say whatever they WANT to say, but it will not matter. He trusts people.
In fact Russia has given up on Trump and the word’s out that Putin is asking for Russians to back off and show some constraint. The party’s over for Trump and you’ll hear all about it after it’s not news anymore.
Yeah on what Russia is used to and what has happened to them. Don’t try to make me out as being against Russia/Putin in any way. It’s dishonest!
Could it be that you are so stupid as to mistake my position on Russia? I actually believe you could be!!
I didn’t just make it up that Russia has given up on Trump. I follow RTnews every day and if you were doing the same you would see how the tone has changed from hope to futility, and now to outright derision of the US and Trump.
Stop talking about something you do not know. Trump did not just mention the issue of improving relations with Russia to get some votes. He made a pointed issue of it, AFTER the election, and on his victory tour. He made many more statements, and participate in many discussion on the topic. He had it outlined in his Foreign Policy Strategy — by the way, no other candidate EVER had such a thing as strategy, with principles, goals and objectives. So, GIVE IT UP DON. You have spent ton of time trying to tell readers that Trump is just another politician, and he did not mean any of what he said, and that he never said what he said, and that he only casually mentioned it. There is no device that you have not employed to try to DENY THE FACT THAT TRUMP WANTS TO CHANGE FOREIGN POLICY. But it is more then Russia — it is no more regime changes, no more interventions, international relations are among nation states, sovereign nation states — that need to be respected for their interests. He repeated it in Congress as well.
So, you cannot diminish what he said, you cannot diminish his objectives. His principles, his strategies. What will happen — we can only watch and hope for the best. But we know one thing — what he said and promised is TRUTH. For a culture of lies and spins, that is such a rarity. He can be stopped, and with the connivance of this own party, Democrats have been allowed to drag him through mud. But do not discount him — many have tried that before, and lost.
You’ve just told me a pack of lies on what Trump said. In fact he hasn’t said a bloody thing about improving relations with Russia for quite a while. Probably not since his campaign lies but I’m not positive. I’ll put the onus on you to find some evidence that he did.
You don’t get to tell me to stop talking about anything. Not until your track record can show where you got something right. All you’re allowed to do is begrude me on what I’ve gotten right, and tell me i’m being a smart ass about it.
For the record, I’m diminishing everything Trump has said about any antiwar sentiments on any country.
You seem to be sticking with Raimondo and are praising Trump for being antiwar. You’ve already ate some crow over our disagreements and you’ll eat a lot more. Phhhhtttt!
You have just TOLD A PACK OF LIES WHILE ACCUSING ME OF TELLING LIES! Get grip of yourself! I am bored with your never ending spins. I am not your researcher, but do look up Trump’s victory tour, do at least two — Fayetteville and the ione in Ohio.
You are desparate to prove that Trump lied to get some antiwar votes. As you know this to be a silly spin — this is not working for you. And now you are trying to make it sound as if Trump never had a specific foreign policy, just a collection of campaign slogans. You know this is not true. — yet you just repeat the same garbage. Like Democrats, you just keep on digging a hole for yourself.
Even in debating the globalist blowhard — the spinning no spin zone host — he shut him up when he tried to pin him down on killer Putin, and Trump had him gasp for air. What idiots — but they expect the president of US to pander to them.
Everybody knows what Trump talked about yesterday when referring to foreign policy disasters. Everybody knows who he was referring to when talking of turning enemies to friends. And everybody knows he will be fought every step of the way — and from his own party.
So — whatever happens is going to be the outcome of the deep state infighting. Trump is right — and major foreign policy change is needed in order to protect and preserve American economy and position in the world. The fossilized politicians do not see it, nor understand it.
Yet, I think Trump will prevail. He asserted the key foreign policy goals — again. Only the deaf and dim did not hear it. There is no choice for US but to change economic, defense and foreign policy. Considering the paralysis that lasted for decades, and sweeping under the rug all the problems — now it is Trump’s fault
Did not Trump praise Putin for ignoring Obama’s petty sanctions, taking over Russia’s diplomats vacation homes right before New Year and Christmas
— making sure all the party drinks are confiscated. So, was that to win elections.
And so Bianca, you fail to meet my challenge of showing how Trump has said anything about improving relations with Russia since his campaign promises.
The reason why is now pretty well undeniable Bianca. He wasn’t serious and he wants it to go away because it’s destroying him.
Would you like more time? Don’t bother to go to the inauguration speech because it’s not there. Ask Eileen, she’s probably just listened to it again.
No Don — you will not make me your research assistant. Do your job. Trump did mention more then once the need for improving relations with Russia SINCE elections. Give it up. You waste everybofy’s time with your effort to portray Trump ss any other politician, who lied. He did not have to mention Russia by name — but everybody knew who he was speaking about in his address to Congress. He made a number of clear references to foreign policy — and all consistent with his pre/post election promises.
Everybody seems to get it. But you. And to make sure people forget his speech, here we go again with more Russia “connections”. Next thing will be spying on Republicans in grocery stores buying Russisn dressing.
Democats do not own a SINGLE issue. Trump took them all. Republicans cannot wiggle either — they cannot enjoy their repeal without replace. So, the party of “no” just got a boss that is asking them to do some work. Republicans had to swalllow many things — among them clearly disssterous foteign policy.
“America is willing to find new friends, and to forge new partnerships, where shared interests align. We want harmony and stability, not war and conflict. We want peace, wherever peace can be found.
America is friends today with former enemies. Some of our closest allies, decades ago, fought on the opposite side of these terrible, terrible wars. This history should give us all faith in the possibilities for a better world. Hopefully, the 250th year for America will see a world that is more peaceful, more just, and more free.”
— Donald Trump, Feb 28, 2017, The Capital, Washington DC.
Lots of politicians have such heartwarming speeches written for them, and especiallly presidents. The only difference in this case is that the president is a bloody liar who’s been caught in his lies dozens of times and he just pretends he was ‘told by somebody else’. Add to that the fact he’s a psychopath and that makes the total difference.
The only thing the lying pig left out of it was, “it’s going to be beautiful” “It’s going to be very, very beautiful”
“Trust me”.
There is a real madness in these “investigations”. Nobody is supposed to talk to anyone that for some reason has been designated an “enemy” in case somehow conflict may be avoided. We can’t have that.
Point out that madness and you’ll almost certainly be denounced as a “Russian apologist / stooge / useful idiot.” This crap bothers many of us, but so does a lot of stuff. There are only so many battles one can fight, and this one is a losing proposition (for those who enjoy sanity) while the politically correct crowd continue to call the majority of shots.
This is why the democrats planted all this information in all 17 intelligence agencies so they can drag up questions that need to be answered .. They wish to undermine the Trump presidency with questions about Russia . The USA government and media has spent more than 70 years reporting some bad facts and a lot of false propaganda making Russia almost always looking bad . It to bad that honest Trump has already pointed out the we have had fake news for a long time . My guess is Trump can win this fight if he can get Kellyanne and Ben Carson to both show the world there really are alternative facts . Ben Carson might be the most trusted man in the Trump administration . And nobody can debate Kellyanne and win .
Never seen such a band of pathetic sore losers as the Democrats and two or three Republican Senators, trying to nullify a free and fair election. They all have enough practice doing that from all over the world.
Is it just the question of being sore losers, or are they following the play book so often used by Soros activist groups around the world. By continuing a “controversial” topic, they are creating the illegitimacy question, and thus, election was “not really lost”. One cannot lose election that was not legitimate. The entire campaign Democrats are waging is going in that direction.
But it is Republicans’ fault. They have allowed, even enabled, the story. They should have taken a position — from day one — that DNC has no case, and that this is a very un-American act of not allowing a peaceful change od governments. Because, Democrats are continuing to harp on the very legitimacy of the elections, and the very legitimacy of the peaceful change of power.
Why Republicans should have thrown the case out immediately? Because DNC refused to grant FBI access to the servers that were, presumably, subject to hacking. The servers were only examined Clinton and Obama’s friend of CrowdSource, an avowed Russia phobic individual. His report — some of it surprisingly not technical, but rather with political undertones, was used by the “17” agencies, of which most never participated in this “consensus”. The entire spectacle of those agencies having to divine their conclusion from a report by a very biased source — and after FBI has been denied access, is something Republicans are responsible for. They have focused so much on their effort to control the candidate — that they forgot what they did in the process. Gave Democrats the legitimacy they wanted. And this is continuing. Voters need to take note, and punish this Republican lot, severely. There will be Trump-supporting candidates running in primaries, and it will be good opportunity to insure that these Republicans learn that their donor money will not help them with the voters. They have willingly thrown Trump into the Democratic Party slime machine.
The moment DNC leadership denied FBI request — asked for at the three different levels of DNC — they had lost legitimacy. FBI is the only agency fully qualified to investigate the claims of hacking. By refusing, DNC is spreading malicious accusations, and they are allowed to do it still — courtesy the criminal negligence of the Republican party. Who these people think they are? What is more important — their ego that wants to control the new President’s legitimate desire to run his own foreign policy, or the nation’s right to have a legitimate elections, not to be put in question by innuendo? And by allowing the political attacks to gain legitimacy, those same Republicans are continuously putting into question the peaceful change of government. So, McCain’s desire to be Commander in Chief, and tell the undeserving Trump that he cannot run his own policy, is more important to those fossils in Senate, then the stability of our election process, and the sacred tradition of peaceful change of power.
What a sad lot are our politicians. Why not horse in Senate. I get it now.
It’s domestic politics and it’s just too bad that you can’t separate this worthless piece of sh-t and the worthless piece of sh-t that is your president, from the whole thing.
By not doing that you are doing harm to our antiwar cause. Trump now pretty clearly represents nothing but more wars and he never did represent anything good between the US and Russia.
“But we know that America is better off when there is less conflict, not
more. We must learn from the mistakes of the past. We have seen the
war and the destruction that have ravaged and raged throughout the world
— all across the world. The only long-term solution for these
humanitarian disasters, in many cases, is to create the conditions where
displaced persons can safely return home and begin the long, long
process of rebuilding. (Applause.)
America is willing to find new friends, and to forge new partnerships,
where shared interests align. We want harmony and stability, not war
and conflict. We want peace, wherever peace can be found.”
— Donald Trump, Feb 28, 2017, The Capital, Washington DC.
I find that a very refreshing change after the last 8 years of the War President.
There is plenty wrong and worrying about Sessions, as there were with Flynn. Talking to the Russian ambassador is not one of them.
This is just too absurd for words.
Exactly.
Always be joyful when a deceitful enemy chooses to reveal themselves.
New York Times, CIA (Washington) Post, and the Wall Street Journal.
Don’t read them. Don’t follow links to them. Don’t give them any money. Don’t visit their websites. Don’t watch their fake/star journalists on TV.
This would end their ability to influence your mind. And it would drive them out of business. Win, Win!
I wholeheartedly agree. We need to rejoyce. They are outed and nothing will ever be the same. Google already is taking shots at some sites, like Naturalnews.com.
It returns the root site, Natural.News. Bing is still OK. Oh yes — just touch the subject of GMO and other mecical problems, and you are fake news, and Google will not let you earn money using its platform. But folks are paying attention. The fact
Here we go again.
You talked to Ruusian.
You looked at a Ruusian.
Stood next to one in department store line.
And as a serving member of any committee, you sre doomed. You had to have talked to Russia.
Democrats’ foreign policy, education, trade, taxes, environmental, health or labor policy — all strongly focused on Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia , Russia, Russia and Russia.
While conveniently fluffing over the main problem: FBI has been denied access to those servers, and all the pontification on Russia hacking those servers came out of one person’s report. Conveniently, a good friend of Hillary. Republicans failed to do their job. Which should have been tossing out all allegations of hacking. If a political party has accused anyone of hacking their servers — and thereby affecting electins — this allegation should have been investigated by an agency that is ohe only one capable of such investigation. As it turns out, the agrieved party refuses investigation — and makes everyone divine the presumed hacking from a report by a private individual, connected to both Hillary and Obama — and known for his Russiphobic views.
We are the idiots here for letting the Democratic party play such amateurish games, gaming the system — and milking the presumed hacking for all it is worth.
While I agree most of this stuff about Russia is rumor / innuendo, it does seem to me that Sessions lied under oath. His denial of any connection with the Russians was categorical, aired in its entirety on NPR. That’s at least as much of an offense as what cost Flynn his office. The hype is bigger than this deserves, but government officials lying to each other is a real problem.
Well said and totally honest too! The onus is on Trump and his people to rise above this kind of thing. Because there’s little doubt that the Dems are going to hold their feet to the fire every chance they get. In this instance, Trump and his people failed the test and they will pay dearly for it again.
Now the question becomes on of, can Trump and his people actually meet the test? Can they meet any test? I think not!

eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers. Techniques may include
exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering or sensationalism. By
extension, the term yellow journalism is used today as a pejorative to
decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical
fashion.
Trump spinning any issue up into a confrontation is not what I’m suggesting and isn’t in the cards with Russia. Although there may be some confusion over what ‘level’ of confrontation you/I am thinking, respectively.
Not to be argumentative but the demands being made on Putin re. Syria are no less unreasonable than during the Obama regime. In fact, there is dangerous escalation happening as we speak. The US troop presense in Syria is being increased. And a recent article tells us that the Ukraine situation is being escalated.
“Why isn’t he doing those things.” Well, I would suggest that his admin ‘is’ doing those things. And I would also suggest that Trump is responsible for the warlike actions of his admin.
If I could ever be convinced that Trump is genuine on Russia/US relations then I would be with you in hoping that the HUAC-style inquisition stuff is making his opponents look like idiots. Raimondo would be right and eventually the situation could start to improve!
I’m not convinced. And I don’t think his opponents are looking like idiots. I think they’re winning. And eventually will win.
Guard against understanding me as hoping for victory for my side. That’s not my issue, and fwiw, you know I don’t have a side as such. Think more on the basis of me believing that if Trump has any issue then it’s guarding against information coming out on his personal financial dealings with Russia. Not on his propensity toward improving relations with Russia. Once again, that was his campaign and now it’s going to have to become reality through actions.
The reality has not changed on US foreign relations pertaining to the ME and will not. Improving relations with Russia is not CONSISTENT with US foreign policy. And on US foreign policy, Trump has made it crystal clear several times already where he stands on that. There lies my position and my continuing refusal to put any hope in Trump.
Glad to have your intelligent questions put to me. It’s given me the opportunity to state my position clearly to somebody who is both smart enough and interested enough to listen.
What’s HUAC?
The Democrats, mainstream media, and many Republicans like John Nutcase McCain are trying to depose Trump.
It’s not going to stop.
Trump has to be careful.
Also, even if Trump people talked to Russian officials, members of Congress regularly get paid by all kinds of shady lobbying organizations and “charities’ to visit foreign countries and speak to their highest officials.
Maybe the Trump campaign people were urging Russia to root for Trump instead of Hillary. Foreign governments weigh in on US elections all the time.
The UK basically announced before the election that it hated Trump.
