The U.S. Air Force has wasted hundreds of billions of dollars on research and development for three fleets of stealth fighter jets, all of which are faulty or have been put on hold for complications. But defense corporations keep convincing Congress to commit more cash to a broken, inefficient military industrial market.

It's not about operational readiness or providing the best tools for our fighting forces, it's about which Congresscritter gets the most baksheesh from the Defense contractor selling inferior products – doesn't matter anymore if the defense contractor is in the congressman's district – it's just a vote. And once the deal has been made, the money comes in buckets to perpetuate the deal year after year after year. And if someone should even think about killing a wasteful program, well, that' not fiscal responsibility, it's killing jobs.
They ought to just fire Congress. It would be the best money-saving deal they could come up with.

Hundreds would be an exaggeration.
Get the facts straight.

There are only 168 F-22s and 13 F-35s in the whole fleet. Even if they were all grounded, it wouldn't be "thousands".
