An U.S. drone fired two missiles at a bakery in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing four alleged militants, in the third drone strike in the country in less than a week.
As is usual, no hard information was provided about the individuals killed in the strike. Despite the fact that everybody knows about the drone war in Pakistan, the program is still technically secret and so the Obama administration refuses to answer questions about it. The underlying premise here being that it’s none of the American people’s business who their own government is killing.
According to Pakistani officials, the victims were buying goods from a bakery when the bomb hit and killed them. Early justifications for the drone strikes were that insurgents in Afghanistan were hiding out in neighboring Pakistan and preparing operations to fight and kill U.S. troops across the border. But killing people in civilian areas while they are not engaged in any combatant operations is hard to justify even using the administration’s logic.
Pakistan considers drone strikes into its territory a severe breach of its sovereignty. Despite repeated demands for Washington to stop bombing their country, the Obama administration has continued the drone war unabated.
Drone strike on a Pakistani bakery? Hmmm, bakery must have been selling those dang al-Qaeda baguettes. So the vicious insanity drags on and on while the innocent pay the price for Amerikan military arrogance.
So if it was a bakery, it means that there were all kinds of people, not only 'bad' guys. How surgical these drones are!
I don’t much condemn the US for drone strikes. The main reason the strikes happen is that Pakistan does not have a government of, by, and for the people. The thugs running Pakistan’s government are self-serving traitors and have no balls. The problem is the Pakistani government whom the people of Pakistan must rise up and replace.
Imagine what reaction it would cause if we did strike some people in China or Russia with drones. Just imagine also if the US allowed a foreign country to kill us here by drone strikes. Who would you then blame? Of course you would blame your own government for not protecting you, and hopefully you would rise up and replace it.
And I suppose that the U.S. has a government by, and for the people. Your U.S. 'thugs' distancing themselves from conflict by killing with drones ! No risks……..and as you said….'no balls'
This TOTALLY justifies the US government murdering bakers.
Shoot the damn drones down.
Its the only language Obama understands.
Collateral murder — Premeditated butcher of the innocent
The joy-stick drone pilot knew that the innocent baker and all his innocent employees would be made into body parts just seconds after he pulled the trigger, the collective conscience of an Empire greed for plunder and driven crazy by greed.
Terrorism to target the American public
(1) A forward observer told the drone pilot what to target and when to pull the trigger.
(2) So, the hit could have been made on the accused terrorists when they entered their car.
(3) And so, it was the deliberate murder of civilians in a store to keep the American public in fearful submission to authority.
