The Obama Administration is said to be warning a number of friendly governments across the planet that the upcoming WikiLeaks release, suspected to be a collection of State Department cables, will “probably erode trust in the United States as a diplomatic partner.”
But perhaps the bigger story is why – officials say that the documents include US diplomatic cables regarding the corruption of a large number of foreign governments and world leaders. Russia and Afghanistan are the only two nations mentioned specifically in the reports.
But they are not, apparently the only two nations in the documents, as a Reuters report says potentially embarrassing reports will be coming from East Asia, Central Asia, Europe and potentially elsewhere.
WikiLeaks reports that the document dump is “seven times bigger” than the previous Iraq leak, potentially in the realm of three million files. The WikiLeaks comments suggested the release in the “coming months,” but the US was warning allies it could come as soon as this week.

This, to me would be one of the biggest benefits of wikileaks. One reason for the endless war and limitless empire is our gutless lapdog allies that have followed the U.S. government off a cliff. I suppose these new leaks will reveal how badly the US government has been spying on or abusing their stupid idiot allies.
Looking forward to Wikileaki news about the Middle East, in particular the Israeli/Zionist/US relationships and the Palestinian question.

The diplomatic material promises to be quite damaging to the FedGov, because there is the potential that the bribery and coercion used by the FedGov to bring other states into line will be aired for all to see. If FedGov "diplomacy" were above board, there would be no need for secrecy and no need for a warning to all the puppet regimes that will presumably be compromised.

The only person getting "raped" here is Assange–for having the temerity to stand up to Empire, that's why. Which is to say, the investor class/DC fascists running the globe can ill afford to have a first-class example of what participation democracy actually looks like go forth with impunity.

While I have no doubt Assange was set up, he should have known better than to engage in any personal conduct that his enemies could use to smear or discredit him, not to mention place him in legal jeopardy. The Soviet KGB had a long & colorful history of using sex as a tool of entrapment, coercion and blackmail against its targets. Did he really think the US wouldn't stoop that low?
Does anyone really care anymore? It is not like there is any surplus of trust in the US Administration anyway. The Wikileaks of the Iraq documents was almost a non-event. This probably will be as well. The MSM won't broadcast any tidbits that are damaging to a Democratic administration, and details from the Bush years reflect on people who are no longer in power. So no-one, other than a few foreign officials, cares.
In any case, the judicial process of taking out Assange on a rape charge is slowly grinding to an inevitable conclusion – time in a Swedish prison.
Sad but true. The previous wikileaks disclosures only underscored how different people are today compared to Daniel Ellsberg's pentagon papers. The world doesn't care anymore.
What I'm hoping for from these new leaks is that the European governments will be shamed and humiliated by their citizen's finding out that they've been a puppet for Washington. Hopefully public opinion in Europe will finally turn against being led around by the nose by the US government.
I'm glad to see someone here has figured it out. Assange is nothing but a stooge for one of our intelligence agencies.
