Gates: Unlikely Taliban Will Accept Reconciliation
Says Locals May Accept 'Reintegration' to Protect Their Families
by Jason Ditz,

With the Karzai government looking to offer some sort of plan that will convince the 25,000-30,000 Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan to switch sides, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates isn’t holding out much hope.
Yet Gates did express some hope that local Taliban fighters could be forced to “accept the terms of the Afghan government, (so) that they and their families can be protected.”
Despite repeated predictions by officials that they could “divide” the Taliban through recruiting locals, the Taliban has lost remarkably few fighters, and increasingly it has been Afghan security forces defecting to the insurgency, not the other way around.

I did some high level work for the Reagan Administration 20 some years ago.I thought that I was working for the President, that I was protecting the Constitution, the American People and my family.Well it turned out that the only people that I was working for was the C.I.A..That is who runs the American Government, that is who Gates and Holbrooke and McCrystal are working for and that is who is running these Islamic wars. You can't vote the C.I.A. out of power, they do as they please and any Congressman who is a serious threat to them is dead meat.I kid you not.

Yeah -right?
The Mighty USA War Machine will not win this fight.
It is strange to hear him talk of protecting Afghans and their families when the killing continues unabated.. Like handcuffed children being shot by US Elite soldiers.

Gates is trying to get the Taliban to swich sides , why not the United States government switch sides again ? Nato has already proven its flexability in europe . When in Yugoslavia they favored the nazi Islamic side against the Christian democracy side . We are truley the most flexable country in the world when we go to war . The Taliban was created by the United States when we encouraged Osoma bin Laden to drive out the communist forces that were running afganhistan . No wonder there is a strong anti war movement . Anti War is not the answer !!! becuase the rest of the worlds governments are as evil as we are . So now the most sought after force is a 1 world government . Which no doubt will bring peace on earth . If you believe ????

Why would Gates leave?
He is one of the people who are lining their pockets so as long as the war goes on he will continue to rake in millions to his own personal fortune.

Well, they didn't actually defeat them. They became the Roman Empire when Constantine converted. Just like the Taliban will become the government of Afghanistan no matter what we do to stop it.
