Reacting with fury following a vote by the United Nations Human Rights Council to endorse the Goldstone Report, the Israeli government is now threatening to abandon its previous indications that it could offer territorial concessions for the creation of a Palestinian state out of a portion of the occupied territories, effectively ended the peace process.
The Goldstone Report details war crimes by both the Israeli government and Hamas during the January invasion of the Gaza Strip, and the Human Rights Council has now forwarded it to the UN Security Council for consideration.
Israel has been pressuring the Fatah faction to get the UN to drop the matter, threatening to place sanctions on the West Bank and abandon the peace track to punish them if the vote took place.
The Goldstone Report is almost certain to die here, as the US will no doubt veto any measure in the Security Council to prevent it going any farther. The real question, however, is if the peace process, or what passes for a peace process these days, has died with it.
The pariah state of Israel was never on a peace path in the first place. The only path they are on is the path of control and expansion. Israel is a cancer to the body of the Middle East. Unfortunately, this cancer is malignant and growing.

The US is again faced with the opportunity to act decently,morally and reclaim the dignity and respect of what it stood for for many years after WWII. By wondering 'WHY DO THEY HATE US' and continuing Isreali dictated policies the US faces increasing HATRED AND DISGUST FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD.
If the US lets slip this opportunity to act honorably and not reign in the Zionists the hatred and disgust of America can only increase throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.
In the end I think it's instructive for Americans – if they were paying attention which they probably aren't – to see Israel kick Obama in the teeth in thanks for shielding them from the Goldstone reccomendations. We have only the Netanyahu government to thank for that, with special recognition going out to Lieberman for making Israel look so good internationally. Seriously though, I hope this at least wakes a few people up.
Israel is like a spoiled brat kid who is a suck and takes his ball and goes home because it doesn't get its own way. It was never genuinely interested in peace anyways.
