The soldeirs who risk their lives every day understand the war cannot be won. They encounter friend and foe deaths, bodies blown up and scattered across the streets, mothers and children screaming in pain, people's livelihood destroyed, including their own, and for what reason: So that politicians and foreign ministers can sit far off in never never land drinking their martinis and champagne, toasting to a victory over the Taliban and other freedom fighters just so that they can build an oil and gas pipeline through Afghanistan.
