Uh — hold on. The article has the subtitle "Clinton says vote will be 'legitimate' with only one choice" on the antiwar.com homepage and I remember reading about this a few hours ago, though the article itself says nothing about Clinton now. Some editing error?

the idea that any one could accept the word "democracy" to describe an occupation installing a puppet government, just shows how hollow a term it has become in the united states.
maybe we can have the marine corp run the elections here to.

In the end Karzai didn't even have to rig the election to win – he just had to put up with a possible runoff. All he and his supporters accomplished was to underscore what a ridiculous sham this whole Democracy experiment in Afghanistan is.
