my simple question is this

who is giving former UNOCAL employee Mr. Karzai the guts to stick his neck out here?
i mean with out full united states support he must have some other foreign patron? maybe gazprom maybe India maybe inside fighting within dod and state but seems to me hes got to see him self having some independent power base to go down this route unless he want to wake up dead in his jamies soon.
other wise i don't know why any one should at all be concerned with this charade.
