What good will it do? It means generals get to order more troops around. It means more promotions, higher prestige, and cushier pensions.

Arms merchants get to sell more of their wares. They take some of this extra cash sunctioned from the productive sector and bribe Congressman looking to get re-elected. The congresscritters love to take credit for the jobs created (they never mention the jobs destroyed by redistributing the loot) making bombs and bullets.

This cozy relationship is called the military-industrial-congressional complex. None of this would make sense without stirring up hornet's nest around the world, generating bogeymen, and starting aggressive wars. That we are being impoverished to fund this intolerable imperial overreach does not bother them in the least, and it certainly isn't a good deal for the foreigners that are on the receiving end of those bombs and bullets.

The whole enterprise stinks to high heaven. It is a moral outrage. We are all going to pay a very dear price for what the sick bastards in Washington, DC are doing in our name.
