Karzai was installed by the US but he has also been getting criticism from Western media. You think the US is there holding his hand and directing everything he does. He is corrupt and wants to be in power, it is his own doing. You know it was the Norwegian UN head who was trying to squash Galbraith's concerns. How many Hazaars have been fighting the US, how many Uzbecks (not part of AQ), how many Tajiks? It is predominantly the Pashtuns , so please don't give me some shit about calling out the true nature being tribalism and Pashtun supremacy/territorial domination. Before 9-11, when the war was between a predominantly Pashtun Taliban versus a mostly non Pashtun Northern Alliance , progressive voices from the Muslim world came out publicly and stated that the Taliban/Afghan internecine fighting was not Islam but pre-Islamic tribalism masquerading as Islam. I read this on the very respected Janes Defense Weekly. So you going to get flustered that they called it Tribalism? You going to get angry at the various news articles commenting on how this has a lot to do with Pashtunistan and Pashtun supremacy? How about the 8000 Hazaars slaughtered by the Taliban , Nat Geo ran an article a year or several months ago on the progroms the Hazaars faced and the racial discrimination . Let us not forget that the US was not keen for Karzai — and James Carville worked for the Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani. Since 1994, Carville has 'worked' in numerous international elections for corporatist (read US puppets) at enormous fees. Carville's presence in the Afghanistan election plus this laborious post-election wrangle suggest US meddling to undermine whatever 'democracy' was in place in the tribalist culture. Karzai fell afoul of US support when he objected to the wholesale slaughter of the opium poppy industry and the destruction of the poppy crops. The US mission was originally counter-terrorism and when they failed to find Osama — the mission creep set in with a vengeance. All of this argues for a truncated exit-strategy leaving a small contingent of non-combat advisors to continue counter-terrorism — rather than McChrystal's grandiose expansionist escalation to full-scale counter-insurgency – which would lead to massive numbers of Afghanis killed and trigger a long-standing quagmire that would make Vietnam look like a picnic.

OH, the U.N. crooked…. Who would have thought that..?? Does that mean that the whole institution is bought and paid for..??? crooked..?? I guess it will be interesting to see how the U.N. handles this scandal.. Do they clean house or just shuffle the cards… When you can't trust the U.N. to [at a minimum] TRY to have a fair vote and a vote count…..Jeez!!! How does one spell puppet..?? Is this a case of one brave whistleblower giving a gigantic organization a black eye..???? And naming names too!!!???? Oh a little google and it gets better…..Kai Eide, the one who ordered Galbraith to keep quiet was appointed by Secretary-General Kofi Anan….. which means that the Secretary really NEEDS to fire this clown, or appear in on the FIX……….Wonderful fun this stuff.. Too bad its so serious and deadly …… I feel for the people of Afghanistan……Some of the most wonderful people I've ever known……
