Israel has illegally arrested humanitarian activists who were bringing food, medicine and toys into Gaza, where the International Red Cross described a humanitarian crisis taking place. If any other country in the world, other than Israel, were committing these heinous acts, the U.S. would be screaming bloody murder. But because the wealthy and powerful Jewish lobby owns our government and media, we not only refuse to condemn Israel, we continue to finance, arm and give political cover to this criminal, warmongering nation. I am ashamed of my country.

Assume that Iran herded tens of thousands of Iranian protesters into a coastal enclave and was systematically starving them to death. Assume that, recently, it had exterminated hundreds of Iranian children (with white phosphorous, for example) of those who had voted for Mousavi (and who consider the current government of Iran "illegitimate"). Assume that a U.S. ex-Congresswoman was arrested by the Iranian authorities in international waters for her attempts to bring humanitarian supplies, and was then imprisoned by the government of Iran. Would the United States ignore this or would it consider it an act of war?
