Why would the US government and media care a whit about Iranian democracy after maintaining the Shah for more than 25 years.  For at least two years (likely more), US Special Forces have been engaged in sabotage, assassinations, and other disruptions in Iran, as Seymour Hersh has reported several times.  Drop this issue </description>
