The same as during the cold war years a balance of nuclear power in th e ME may well be the best way to preserve peace and prevent war in the ME.

Well, that's mighty magnanimous that Obama is willing to acknowledge some theoretical right of Iran to develop a peaceful nuclear energy program. That's sort of like acknowledging that a person has a right to start a fire to warm himself while simultaneously threatening to shoot him for collecting some wood. The hilarious thing, though, is that the Likudniks will scream bloody murder that Obama is "betraying" Israel and the Republican brownshirts will jump into their bunkers and complain to each other that Obama is going to surrender to the mullahs without firing a shot. The whole thing is a Class-A joke.
